What should you expect if you need a crown?
Typically a crown procedure takes two appointments. At the first appointment, several highly detailed impressions are taken that will be used to create your custom crown. An impression will also be used to create a temporary crown that will stay on your tooth for approximately two to three weeks until your new crown is custom-made by a dental laboratory.
After the tooth is numb, Dr. Sunil Yadav will carefully prepare the tooth by removing any decay and shaping the surface of the tooth to properly fit the crown. Once tooth preparation is accomplished, your temporary crown will be placed with temporary cement and your bite will be checked to ensure you are biting properly. At your second appointment, your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be cemented with permanent cement.
